Core FTP Lite

Core FTP Lite is a Windows FTP client that supports uploading/downloading/deletion of directories (folders) and files, browser integration, SFTP (or secure FTP), SSL/TLS, handling of file permissions, transfer bandwidth control, etc.

FileZilla Open Source FTP / SFTP Client

FileZilla is a free, open source FTP client for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X distributed under the GNU General Public License. You can do the usual stuff, upload and download files, as well as resume uploads or downloads, works with firewalls, supports SFTP (Secure FTP) and SSL secured connections, handle queues of files to be uploaded/downloaded, etc. At the time this was written, the Linux and Mac OS X versions are under Beta testing.

Fugu - Mac OS X SFTP / SCP / SSH FrontEnd

Fugu is a free open source frontend for SFTP (Secure FTP), SCP and SSH. It is released under a BSD license, and supports Mac OS X.

Net Transport

Net Transport is a download manager for Windows that support multiple download streams using HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, MMS (Microsoft Media Services), RTSP (Real-Time Streaming Protocol) and PNM. This is a freeware version of the commercial AceFTP client. It has the usual FTP features that allow you to upload and download files and manage your website.

How to know if your Yahoo chat mate is really offline

Did you know that you can see if your chatmate is really offline or not. Thanks to Web Stuff Scan for providing some tips to know about it

1. But there is a hack which allows you to see whether someone is really offline or not. The easiest way is to directly acess the online status image using the URL - http://opi.yahoo.com/online?u=userid&m=g&t=2 (replace userid with the actual user id).

2. The second way is to start a voice chat with the userid you want to check. If you don’t get an error it indicates that the user is indeed online, but in invisible mode. This works only in previous versions of Yahoo messenger.

3. The only method which seems to work on latest versions of Yahoo messenger is the IMEnviornment hack. First send a message to the user id and then immediately change the IMEnviorment. Now if the guy is really offline, you will get a message “waiting for your friend to load the theme” message. If he is online, you will just get a blank page!

Tip in using bookmark feature of Firefox

I have discover a new ways to increase my efficiency in browsing sites which I frequently visited. This could only be used if you are using firefox as your browser.

I am referring to the use of Ctrl D ( Making a bookmark ). By Pressing Ctrl D it will bookmark the websites you like. Just follow the following steps:

1. Go to your favorite Site
2. Press Ctrl D
3. Then Press Bookmark at Menu bar and look for the Website you have bookmark.
4. Right click then select ” properties “
5. then at the keyword put 2 or 3 letter word that you easily remember then presto.
6. When ever you want to visit the site just enter the 3 letter word that you have input and you can immediately go to the site.

How To easily list all the file name contained in the CD or diskette ?

Situation : I want to list all the Documents mentioned in the CD provided by the client. How will I do that?

Solution :

1. Press Start and then Press Run , It will lead you to DOS Setup
2. Type the location of the drive where you want to list all the documents filename that you want to write( You may use ” cd.. ” or ” e: ” in order to move to the folder in the next level )
3. Then type ” dir >txt.txt “
4. Then presto go to Windows and find the filename txt.txt in the location where you made the command and it will show a text file listing all the documents and folders inside.
